Donald Novey, age 97, WWII Veteran and founder of Don Novey Bag Company, Chicago, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 17, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Ruth, nee Weisberg, and the late Dorothy, nee Oringel; devoted father of Stephen (Pamela) Novey, Scott (Reva) Novey and Kimberli (Dr. Neil) Novey-Weintraub; cherished step-father of Dr. Robert (Barbara) Breyer, Dr. Stanley (Ruthie) Friedell, Norman (Rosalyn) Breyer and George Breyer; loving grandfather of Jill Novey-Ziegler, Lara (Marty) Sviatko, Joshua Novey, Eli (Jessica) Novey, Anna (Tim) Novey-Cook, Stefanie Weintraub and Marla (Andrew) Weintraub-Conti; adoring step-grandfather of Meghan Breyer, Alexandra Friedell (Lorenzo Beacco), Sam Friedell, Jeff Breyer and Andrew (Tracy) Breyer; caring great-grandfather of Sarah and Daniel Ziegler, Andrew and Rachel Novey and Samantha Cook; dear uncle, cousin and friend of many.
